--We are very excited to announce that Mike Padgett has joined "John Q" as our new drummer. He has been playing in the area for over 10 years with bands such as "Spies and Parsons" and "Elevated." Mike's first performance with the band will be on March 30th at Skippers Smokehouse for an Eric Clapton Tribute Concert. Look for full length local and regional shows in the very near future.

--Farewell To Our Drummer and Good Friend: Brian Oliver

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of our drummer and friend Brian Oliver. He has been with us since the bands inception, appeared on both studio albums and countless live performances, and done a great deal in shaping the musical direction of John Q.

Brian recently told us that he has reached a point in his life where he wants to pursue other opportunities, focus on his career, and spend more time with his family and new bride; Barb. We wish you nothing but the best Brian. It has been a great ride filled with highs and lows. You will be dearly missed.

Brian will be wrapping up his tenure with John Q. with two final shows. Friday, January 22nd at Push Ultra Lounge, and Saturday the 23rd at the “I Love St. Pete” Festival at “The ArtPool Gallery.”

--Well, we came up short in the Landshark Contest. The voting came right down to the final minutes and we were'nt able to hold 1st place. We would like to thank all of you for your help during this contest. The support our fans have shown us has been overwhelming along with the positive feedback that we have recieved from all our new freinds. Congratulations to Chester Bay, they are an awesome band and if you haven't already done so, check them out at www.myspace.com/chesterbay

--The trip to Chicago was a complete success. The show was amazing and all the bands were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We should have the links to the video tracks from the live show and don’t forget that the voting starts again October 23rd. Tell your friends and help us spread the word.

--Two bits of news today.  First, we are extremely happy to announce that our new album 'Sunrise' is finally complete.  It took a lot of time, blood, sweat and tears, but we finally have a complete album!  We will make it available to you all as soon as we get back from Chicago, which brings me to our next bit of news...

--We are leaving for Chicago tonight and can't wait to play this Landshark Lager Battle of the Bands show!  We made it this far because of all of you, so THANKS!  We are playing with three other bands: '17 Candle', 'Facing Forward', and 'Chester Bay.'  They are all very good, very tight bands, so keep your fingers crossed.  We're really excited about playing in Chicago and sharing the stage with these groups.  We will be sending updates from the road to let everyone know how things are going.  Till then, keep on.

--We have made it through to the final round of the LandShark Battle of the Bands. Out of 350 bands you voted us into the top 20 and we were chosen in the top 4 to play in the finals on Sept. 17th in Chicago. Thanks again for all your help. We couldn't have done it without you. While the good news is coming all the tracks have been recorded for the new album. Only the mixing and mastering left to do now.

--You did it!!!! You guys voted your butts off and put us through to the next round of the Land Shark Rocks contest. The next round is in the hands of some professional judges so keep your fingers crossed. We will have to think of some tasty way of thanking you.

--We have been chosen for a Battle of the Bands that Landshark is putting on and we need everyone's help. --Album update: We have finished recording the bass and drum tracks. Up next will be the guitars. Shouldn't be long now.

--Album update: We have booked the recording space for the last weekend in June and will begin with the instrument tracking then. It's a little later than originally planned but we wanted to be completely prepared to put out the best album possible. We will keep you updated on the progress.
